At Harley Street Dental Group, we believe we can work together to preserve the resources of the planet, use products and materials which respect the environment and contribute to environmental protection above and beyond our operation.
We have many activities in place which are designed to reduce our environmental impact and we encourage 'green' behaviour among our staff. These initiatives include:
The Conqueror paper we choose is produced with carbon neutral protocols which reduce carbon emissions without sacrificing quality. Our paper is FSC certified and recycled with cotton, using a minimum of 33% recycled fibres from office waste.
We are an 'amalgam-free' practice and are committed to lower the environmental impact from the use of industrial mercury, which is a constituent of dental amalgam fillings.
We have special equipment such as safe filters in our suction and waste pipes to minimise our patient's exposure to mercury when old dental metal fillings have to be taken out.
Because we use digital X-ray technology in our practices we have eliminated our dependence on chemicals used in old fashioned radiography development - nor do we need to print out the images.
In order to cut down on paper and postage HSDG has installed technology which allows us to communicate with our patients and send out all documentation electronically. All our practices are fully computerised and interlinked and we encourage the use of email to reduce our reliance on paper.
As in every area of our practices we have embraced the latest technology and installed the latest heating, insulation and energy recycling processes to significantly lower the energy consumption of the practices.
